MEDICATION MANAGEMENT
At Enlightenment Psychiatry, medication management is an important part of helping you achieve balance and improve your mental health. This service involves ongoing appointments with your psychiatric provider to monitor your progress, adjust treatment as needed, and ensure your care plan continues to meet your goals.

What to Expect
During a medication management visit, your provider will:
-
Review your current symptoms and how you’re feeling
-
Monitor the effectiveness of your medication
-
Adjust dosage or change prescriptions if needed
-
Discuss potential side effects and strategies to manage them
-
Answer your questions and listen to your concerns
-
Coordinate care with your therapist or primary care provider, if appropriate

Why It Matters
Medication can be a helpful tool in treating conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and mood disorders. When carefully managed, it can reduce symptoms, improve daily functioning, and support your overall wellness. Regular follow-up appointments ensure your treatment stays safe, effective, and aligned with your goals.

How Often Are Appointments?
-
Initial follow-up is typically scheduled within 2–4 weeks after starting a new medication.
-
Ongoing visits are usually every 1–3 months, depending on your needs and stability.

Your Role in the Process
Medication management is a partnership. We encourage you to:
-
Take medications as prescribed
-
Keep track of any side effects or changes in mood, energy, or sleep
-
Be open about how you’re feeling and what’s working (or not working)
-
Bring questions to every appointment
